  1. Yes they are screwed up in their thinking but that is the result of brainwashing by zealot parents and an inability to think their way out of their problems. God has to help in every way.

  3. Are they? Are they really? Or are WE? I, personally, am all for those other Gods kicking some Christian ass, but it's not looking good.

  4. Well, I thought it was great... That's the whole point isn't it? That they are aligning themselves with ONE god out of the thousands that span the ages of concious (human) thought.

Imagine... we contact extra-terrestrial beings, then you also have to take every one of THEIR deities into consideration (assuming that they went through this same stage as us)... then, with the estimated number of civilizations in this galaxy, and the number of gods/deities each one had, you are talking about the odds of worshipping the "correct" god about the same as the odds of winning the Powerball Jackpot.

    Pretty F'n slim.

  5. Not looking good? By whose estimation?? NONE of them are supported by evidence. The point was a short joke about the fallacy of pascals wager.

So I guess you are right....it's not looking good. But not for the reason you imply. Likely because none of them are real.

The point is that even if you DID know (which you don't) that there is a god, you would have no way of assertaining his identity or knowing his mind. Could be any of the million gods or in fact none of them.
